Responsible, community focused, sustainable development for new homes

Be part of the community that helps make it happen

What we believe in

Drummoyne Responsible Development believes in and supports responsible development that delivers new homes, including permanent, truly affordable housing, ensuring that growth is well-planned, sustainable, community focused and supported by increased infrastructure.

We accept that Drummoyne will see more density. We support housing that respects the character of the area, the amenity of residents, and the environmental qualities that make Drummoyne worth living in. Growth should deliver better transport and community facilities – not just bigger buildings.

We do not oppose development. We oppose development at a scale that the planning controls were never designed to accommodate, approved through an NSW Government process that excludes community participation.

What we are doing

  • We monitor planning applications that affect Drummoyne

  • We raise awareness of these among the members of our group and urge them to make their neighbours aware

  • We produce flyers and distribute them to as many letterboxes as we can so the message gets through as widely as possible

  • We coordinate and assist community action during public exhibition periods including helping you make submissions

  • Maintain dialogue with the local community, City of Canada Bay Council, state government and the opposition

  • Provide factual, accessible information to residents about planning processes

  • We produce and distribute a regular newsletter

  • We work with the urban planning talent in our community, engage with experts who care about living spaces and communities

  • We liaise with other like minded Sydney associations so together we can more effectively lobby for the values we believe in

Why we need you

Share your skills and add power to our voice.

The more members we have, the more seriously we will be taken by government, council and the media. Help us have a voice with more power to lobby more effectively for the well-being of our suburb and our community.

Every individual makes a small difference, together we make a big difference. The more letters, signatures and submissions that go to government the more likely we are to get a result to our benefit.

Together we are stronger.
