  A group of around 100 residents and DRD members turned up at 11:00 to the Sclabrini On-Site information session to hear from the developer and ask questions of various of the members of developer’s team including the Project Lead, the architect and others and look more closely at the information boards.

  Nicolette Boele has written to thank all the people who responded to her petition for a Nationally Agreed definition for what Affordable Housing means. She wrote… “Less than an hour ago, I asked the Treasurer whether the Government would back a nationally consistent definition of affordable housing — so affordable homes can actually be delivered, and made available to the nurses, teachers and other key workers our community depends on.

  The Treasurer confirmed that the Government are considering calls for nationally consistent definition of affordable housing. He noted that the Housing Australia Future Fund sets rents for affordable tenancies at a 25% discount to market rents, but that the definition shifts from state to state and program to program. He also confirmed that Minister O'Neil has asked Treasury to do the work on affordable housing definitions — looking at the various frameworks now operating across Australia, and at the options for more consistency. The Government, he said, sees that as "an important objective". Six months ago, this wasn't on the table. Today the Treasurer stood up in the House and said it matters. That happened because thousands of people in our community put their names to it. So we have a real chance here. My Private Member's Bill is being introduced on Monday. This is the moment to push. If you haven't signed my petition yet, you can add your name here: I believe in a national definition of affordable housing. And if you have already signed — send it to one person today. A friend, a neighbour, your kids, your parents. Every signature makes the case harder to ignore. This is how the crossbench gets things done.   Doing Density Better Launch. Representatives from 26 action groups across the Sydney region came together at NSW Parliament House for the launch of Doing Density Better. Wendy Harmer hosted and facilitated the meeting that included speakers from action groups in Drummoyne, Concord West /North Strathfield, Mosman, Chatswood, Potts Point, Burwood North as well as urban design specialists Elizabeth Farrelly and Professor Philip Thalis

  Over 150 community members joined the Conciliation meeting with DRD members presenting to the Commissioner. The presence and messaging received will have had an impact on awareness of community concerns, in addition to the significant number of DA response objections submitted by this community

  Over 100 members of the public gathered to lend their support to Council to enforce LEP control in the face of the NSW LMR/SEPP override that developers are seeking
