Rise Up, Sydney: A Conversation in the Park
Sydney is changing fast. Major planning reforms are reshaping our suburbs, increasing density and allowing much larger developments — often without the infrastructure, affordable housing or meaningful community consultation that good planning requires.
On Saturday 17 October, communities from across Sydney are coming together at Goddard Park, Concord to say: we support more housing, but we need a fair plan.
We want housing that people can genuinely afford, close to jobs and family. We want schools, transport, health services, parks and other infrastructure to keep pace with population growth. We want good design, liveable neighbourhoods and protection for the places and heritage communities value. And we want local people to have a genuine voice in decisions that will shape their neighbourhoods for generations.
Concord is where one of Sydney’s largest rezonings is proposed — but the issues extend right across Sydney.
With the NSW election on 13 March 2027, now is the time to make our voices heard.
Bring your family, friends and neighbours. Bring a picnic. Join the conversation — and help us call for better planning and a fairer future for Sydney.

Date: Saturday, 17 October 2026
Time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Purpose: The Minns Government won’t talk to us, so we’ll have a conversation in the park to say: we support more housing, but we need a fair plan. Show up on 17 October and be counted — because if we’re not in that park, our silence gets read as consent.
